NOTES

  1. Daughter of Daniel Mylrea & Lucy Parry, baptised 1723 in Ballaugh
  2. Great grand daughter of William McYlrea & Ann Christian, grand daughter of Daniel Mylrea & Margaret Curlett als Parr
  3. Married CAPTAIN William Callow in about 1747; six children living
  4. Claughbane (Manx = white stone) - a farm in Ballure treen
  5. Children: Daniel b1750-d1750, Daniel b1751, William b1753, Thomas b1755, Edward b1759-1783, Margaret b1755-1840, Ann b1754
  6. There must have been a second son named Daniel because the child who was born in 1750 died within a couple of weeks. An annotation in Manx Worthies tells of a Daniel Callow b1751 died 1790 who died in the UK - he was a HK, and Attorney at Law. This Daniel was involved in the will of Daniel Mylrea, died 1775 (his uncle)
  7. Might have been another child Jane who died 1764 aged 1
  8. Her brother Thomas died 1759 (in Ireland?), naming William Callow as one of the supervisors of his children [including Daniel, hero of the Harpooner incident]
  9. Her brother Daniel left legacies to Ann's children ie. Daniel, WIlliam jnr, Thomas, Edward, Margaret, Ann - when he died in 1775
  10. Husband William died 1800, and from his will it is clear he had a second family. He married widow Catherine Moore als Christian in 1767
  11. Children from second marriage- John (1768), Elizabeth (1770), Mary (1772), Philip Moore Callow (1775-1833), Mary (1777)
  12. The land records tell of heavy mortgaging of the Callow estate by William, Ann's husband. His will told of a £12,000 debt. However, a William Callow redeemed these mortgages in 1853 - a grand son/great grandson? Presumably Thomas, William's third son with Ann, was heir at law to the estate
